It is time for school to start. Beginning on Monday my kids will be back in the school routine. I guess a more truthful way to say that would be, my kids will begin the school routine. I am sure it will take several days, hopefully not weeks, to get them accustomed to the routine.
The kids attend a modified-year round school. They begin the middle of July and attend nine weeks and then a two week break. That process goes on every nine weeks through out the year until the end of May, then a break for eight weeks, a summer break of sorts. I think the kids are ready to start back so they can see friends and get back to the routine of life.
For the last week they have been with grandparents for that last bit of summer fun. I don’t now if you are like this, but when they are gone I miss them a lot. The first couple of days it is a nice break for Amy and me. After day two I really begin to wonder, “What did we do with our time before we had kids?” I am ready to go and get the kids. It’s time for school to start and time for me to start refereeing those arguments that I dislike so much, but miss terribly right now.
