My daughter (12yrs.) is going to Sao Paulo, Brazil this summer on a mission trip. This will be here second trip to Brazil. She has fallen in love with the people, the country and missions in general. It has been fascinating to watch. I am so thankful that God has placed within her heart a desire to serve others.

We have explained that she must raise her support for this trip. The cost of the trip is around a $1000.00 (airfare, VISA, food, lodging, and supplies on the field). She accomplished this on her previous trip and we were so proud of her. This year she has chosen to design a T-Shirt to sell that will promote missions to Brazil. If you would like to support her endeavor and further the cause of missions in the Sao Paulo area you can purchase a shirt for $15.00, shipping is $5.00. Give me a call, email, or comment and we can get you one.
Whatever you do please pray for the favela people of Sao Paulo and for Jordan as she prepares for her trip this summer.

So Much

I have so much to be thankful for in my life. There are too many blessings to name here in this short space. I asked the Lord this morning to remind me of things in my life that I have to be thankful for that I usually do not thank Him for each week. On this day of remembereace, what are the little things you remeber to give thanks for but are glad they are a part of your life?
Tell your family how thankful you are for them, be specific.
What’s the Big Deal?
Do you have a “big deal” going on in your life right now?
I have known people that seem to go from “big deal” to “big deal”. There seems to be something going on in their life all the time. I’m not talking about that next big business deal, but that thing in your life that seems to be causing conflict. The conflict may be between people or it may be internal. What seems to be the thing that is dragging you down right now? As trite as this may sound it is the best I can give you, turn your “deal” over to the Lord and let Him tackle it for awhile. It may not go away right then, but a fresh perspective on it from His angle will help you greatly. I know it helps me when I am fighting my “big deal”.
The Overby’s in China

Leslie and Dick Overby are in China for the next couple of weeks getting their new daughter, Addie. What an exciting time for the whole family. Our church is very excited about Addie’s arrival also. Leslie has worked at FBC for around 10 years. She works alongside Pat and me as a ministry assistant, and she makes things happen for our church. If you would like to keep up with her journal and see pics type in www.youbelong.net/theoverbys.
All Kinds of Exercise

I am so sore from all of the physical work-outs I have been doing over the last several weeks and months. My body has been so out of shape. I have let it go for years and now I am paying the price for the negligence. A few days ago I joined a workout group because I realized I needed help to go to another level in my physical fitness. It was very tough, but I knew I had taken the right steps.
Paul told Timothy in 1 Tim. 4:8 “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
Don’t neglect the spiritual training of spending time with Jesus each day, talking with Him each day, spending time with those who challenge you to go another step on the journey. Do not forget the importance of gathering with other believers consistently to worship God. The strength and energy you gain from the Body of Christ getting together is incredibly important.
Where are you in your training? Both physical and spiritual training are important to you as a follower of Christ. Obviously, the most important is your spiritual development, that training will last throughout this life and the next.
