What Am I Missing??

On each mission trip I lead someone always asks, “What should I pack?” I also hear “how much should I take with me” in our pre-meeting trips. These are great questions to be asking as one prepares to leave on an international trip. In todays world with travel fees and limited luggage space we need to ask ourselves what are the most important things to have with us.

I have utilized a packing list for many years. I do not always take each item with me, but I list everything on one sheet of paper so I can decide what I will take based on the trip and the needs. I hate forgetting things or realizing later that a particular item was not listed on my travel list. Therefore, my list is updated often with new “potential” packing items. Again, just because it is on the list doesn’t mean I pack it for each trip. I like having the option to decide for each trip if certain items are necessary.

Grand Canyon

We are leaving early in the morning for the Grand Canyon to celebrate a milestone B-Day. I had my big day last Oct. and Amy will pass the milestone in Aug.  So, for our gifts to each other we are headed to the South Rim to hike and play around. We have been saving and paying for this gift since last summer.

I will not post for a week or so, blog at you later next week hopefully.

This is the team as we were leaving Nashville on Jan. 18. We were so pumped and ready to see and experience all that God had planned. After all the delays and setbacks we knew God was going to speak to us and change us forever.

Some of the things we did while in W. Africa:
Village visits, taught English (thats dangerous for me), spoke at the university, prayer-walked, showed the Jesus film in a village, meet with local M’s, and experienced life as a new M on the field.

There will be many more trips to the area and I hope you will be open to going.
